Invalidating query cache entries table replication
I don't want to focus on where and what to cache in this blog. I simply want to try and shed some light on cache invalidations as it relates to Web Sphere Commerce.
The reason for its disabling, is that the query cache does not scale with high-throughput workloads on multi-core machines. You would specify the time to keep cache entry after it was last accessed. This works by using the LRU algorithm (least recently used) of the cache to decide which entries to remove once cache hits the upper limit of available storage. The command looks at the cacheivl table and uses its entries to determine what to invalidate.
We are looking for community feedback on the use-cases for the Query Cache in My SQL.
Dynacache provides several ways to invalidate cache: rules-based, time-based, group-based and programmatic.
